Graywind Motorized Shangrila Sheer Shades | Room Darkening

I had my whole house window treatments replaced by Gaywind products. Turnaround time was fast (they got to work right away). It looks beautiful! I love it, my family loves it, my friends love it! I am one happy satisfied customer.

Installed 2 Shangrila Motorized Shades (wide series) with zigbee motors, side by side. One about 3' wide and the other almost 6' wide. I was extra careful during the install and all went well (the 1st time). I control them with one remote and I have automated them using Home Assistant via the ZHA integration. Information I found on-line suggested using the zigbee2mqtt integration instead of ZHA, but I chose to stick with ZHA. I cannot yet tilt the blinds (even with the remote). Graywind suggests using Alexa for that. Graywind also suggests using the plug-in WiFi motors, instead of Zigbee, for those who wish to automate their blinds. I had my reasons for my choses. I am very pleased with the outcome. I am comfortable that future updates to Home Assistant will allow me to tilt the blinds in the not to distant future.

We followed the instructions on how to select the shade style, measuring of the windows, installation, programming of the electric version of the shade and it ended up being a perfect product and project. The Graywind people were all so very helpful and could provide help whenever needed. I not hesitate to do this again. They arrived programmed just like we wanted are are so easy to install with the provided hardware.

A perfect solution for our home. We have received many compliments on look and function. The customer service has been outstanding. Very quick and responsive.

While attractive my shades do not function so well with the Bluetooth motor and smart hub. App integration is totally clumsy. Alexa integration works properly only 30% of the time with no simple way to adjust blinds beyond open/close controls. I typically have to dictate command to open/close blinds 2-3 times to get all 3 to actuate. I do believe this should be better

The shade was packaged securely and arrived undamaged. It was easy to install and looks very nice. I did not get the motor; I preferred manual operation. The pullchain and gear are plastic, so I don't expect them to last as long as metal ones. Also, the shade pulls up a little unevenly. However, overall, I think these are a good value for the price.

Our new blinds are beautiful! Having automated blinds has been the best addition to our home. Just as advertised and great quality. Also customer service was super helpful when needed. Will purchase more in the future :)

I love these blinds! Love the ease of motors and scheduled times for up and down. Look very nice in my home. However I made the mistake and ordered about 1-2 includes too short, due to the fact that every inch costs more. I read, but obviously didn't understand the measuring instructions well as they pertain to my window frames.

Added the Graywind Motorized Shangrila Shades recently. Turnaround time on the order was quick.
Install was easy, they look great, sync with Alexa was easy (we love this feature). I've read some reviews where some couldn't connect the smart blinds with Alexa. If you first use the Graywind app, it's effortless. Takes only a minute. Commands "open", "close", or "set blinds to 50%" or however far you want them, is so convenient. With the Shangrila Shades, they have the added feature of flipping to an open position when all the way down, which provides filtered light. We've found that the command "close blind" will bring them all the way down and then flip to this filtered light position. However, "set blind to 95%" brings them all the way down but leaves them in room-darkening mode. The Graywind app is nice. Slide the image of the blind to whatever position you want. We did get one remote too. Everything works, and looks, as hoped.

We did not go with solar charging since our cords could be hidden and plugs were conveniently located.

They are very light weight and easy to install. I installed 12 shades in 3 hours.

I ordered 3 shades, one was an incorrect width (I measured carefully but somehow entered wrong value). I also ordered 3 solar panels and then realized they would not work in my application. Graywind made it all good and charged me NOTHING. Truly amazingly customer service. The shades are beautiful and the electronic control is flawless.

The blinds are beautiful. Just what I was looking for. The customer service was excellent. Zoe was very repsonsive and provided excellent service.

Good packaging. Easy to install once you figure out the diagrams. They work great and look nice. Takes a couple weeks as they are coming out of China. Would have preferred to buy American but this company was the only one offering the style I wanted.

I purchased this blind for a family member's home, and recently installed it. The build quality of the blind, motor, and mounting hardware were all very nice. The documentation could be improved, but the support was excellent and easily addressed any questions I had. I would not hesitate to do business with this company again, and will likely purchase another unit soon.

these were going over a tub so I went w/ the solar units instead of the plugin style. the remote is simple & we love how they look. This is our3rd set of blinds from them. I had a small problem w/ this set but the seller / manufacturer answered my questions & did a zoom call to try and fix it. Eventually they just sent a replacement. couldn't be happier w/ them or w/ the blinds. highly recommend.

While Graywind was decent to work with (there was a LONG delay, but between the pandemic and US. customs, it really isn't their fault.) the Shangrila sheer blinds cannot be set up to work automatically with my Alexa, as I had hoped. I can tell the device to close the blinds, but what it does is take them to the bottom of their settings, meaning that the vanes are open, and the outdoors is visible through the sheers. In order to CLOSE them, I have to use the remote.
After the fact, their rep. tells me that it is an issue with the RF. The REMOTE can tell it to pause at a preset position, but that cannot be done via Alexa. I wish that I'd known beforehand.
I had been warned that the "blackout" was not truly dark; I wasn't prepared for how much light gets through, especially if they're in direct sunlight. The vanes between the sheers do not overlap, so there is quite a lot of light that shows through. Even the areas that ARE behind the vanes show quite a lot of light.
Overall though, the Shangrila shades are pretty. The motors are not too loud, and so far (so longs as I'm using the remote, not Alexa) they respond well.

I have purchased 4 blinds from Graywind and they are of great quality, The customer service is great, they answer questions by email very quickly. I have been in contact with Zoe for all my purchases and so far, I am extremely satisfied. I definitely recommend the Graywind shangrila blinds

First: Directions on how to measure and how to order were crystal clear. My measurements for inside mount were spot on and fit perfectly. Second: delivery was amazing. I reconciled myself to receiving these sometime in May and lo and behold they were delivered to my door as I was “tracking” my package. Packaging was superb: the blinds were well protected. Third: the price and quality of these blinds is beyond compare. Fourth: installation is incredibly easy. Between the pamphlet and/or the video my husband and I didn’t go wrong. That brings me to my fifth observation: my white Shangrila Shades are absolutely beautiful. The blinds were paired to raise, lower and tilt in sync. They are light filtering and not room darkening, but that was what I wanted. I haven’t paired them with an Echo yet, so I can’t speak to that feature, but will update this review if needed.

After a test order of one shade, I bought 8 of these for every window in my home. I started by ordering the fabric swatches which I highly recommend.

Getting these right was a long road for several reasons, most of which were completely my fault.

For example, on the first shade I ordered the wrong motor, requested that the solar be on the wrong side of the valence, measured incorrectly twice and generally just struggled at every stage of the process. This was NOT Graywind’s fault.

But… even though I was hopelessly poor at ordering these properly, the customer service team at Graywind came though for me.

At every stage of this error-riddled process (from my side), they had a solution to help me and made it right. If you get in touch with these people, just know that they are the best. This was some of the most helpful and “extra mile” customer service I’ve ever experienced.

It does take time to get these. My first order took several weeks to arrive since they are custom made in China. It was all worth the wait. All shades are working, look nice and are hooked up to my Zigbee network through Hubitat, which I continue to customize. If you want that to work for you, make sure to order the ZF motor so it will be compatible with Zigbee.

Also, if you order solar panels, make sure you ask for the motor to be on the side of the window that does not open— so you don’t rip off the cord if you open the window.

The 5 Shangrila Shades came very well packaged and within 2-3 wks via UPS air from China. The first package contained no documentation for installation and setup of ZF motor control. Based on contacting GW service I got references to videos which were initially sufficient to do the basic installation and operation. While planning to group the shades I started to need more info since online documentation didn't work as presented. This clearly shows the dynamics in the field of home automation with smart devices. With several contacts via email to Zoa, Cherry, and Lisa in short time I was guided with updated instructions and suggested process steps described in detail. This lead me to success in all aspects on this project in short time I can only emphasize that with the customer focused effort GW stands out.

We are very happy with these blinds. The installation is super easy. It took my husband a little bit of time to get the connection to our Alexa’s, but once done they work great. It’s so nice to be able to just say a few words and get all 5 of our bedroom window blinds open or close to the exact position that we want them.
We still have some issues with using the remote because even though we tried to connected each one to a different channel, they keep getting cross connected and it’s a bit of a mess. But since they are working so we’ll with Alexa, we don’t even need the remote.
Also, this company customer service is amazing. They respond right away and make sure to solve any issues you have in a timely manner.

My wife wanted motorized Hunter Douglas Silhouette blinds - which are incredibly expensive. Our six windows (which are not that large) would have cost $6500 to do! And that's after getting multiple estimates from different suppliers. I thought I'd give Graywind a chance - and we're glad we did. We ordered one window just to see it it's any good. It was easy to install, but a bit trickier to program. The instructions read like an Ikea guide - some cryptic images that do technically work but do also require some deciphering. The motor is noisier (the Hunter Douglas are practically silent), and you can tell construction is not quite the same. But it's a fraction of the cost! We're going to go ahead and order five more.

These blinds are very elegant. The sheerness is perfect with the right amount of light filtering. We had our contractor help with the installation but it seemed manageable enough.
My one wish is that the blind could sit more flush with the top of the window. Please see photo highlighted in blue. There’s a tiny gap through which you can see the metal braces. Perhaps if the metal was also white like the blind, it wouldn’t be as prominent.
Overall. I recommend these blinds as they’re lovely and affordable especially compared to other options.

We love the shade very much and we already ordered 3 shades from Graywind. Their prices are also reasonable compared to other companies and we are thinking of ordering few more shades.
