Before You Begin Measuring
Accurate measuring starts with the right tools and a clear approach. Taking a few moments to prepare will help ensure your custom window treatments fit as intended.
• Use a steel tape measure for accuracy—avoid cloth or flexible tapes
• Measure each window individually, as dimensions may vary
• Round measurements based on product requirements (typically to the nearest 1/16" or 1/8")
• Clearly record width and height to avoid confusion

How precise do my measurements need to be?
How precise do my measurements need to be?
Measurement accuracy depends on the type of window treatment you are ordering.
Shades, Blinds, and Specialty-Shaped Shades require precise measurements because they are installed within or directly against the window opening. Even small measurement errors can affect fit and operation, especially for inside mount applications.
- Most products should be measured to the nearest 1/8 inch
- Certain specialty-shaped products may require measurements to the nearest 1/16 inch
- Always refer to the specific measuring guide for your product
Curtains & Drapes are generally more forgiving because they are mounted on a rod or track and are designed with fabric fullness. In most cases, measurements can be rounded to the nearest whole inch.
When in doubt, we recommend measuring twice and recording the exact dimensions before placing your order.
