I have been purchasing Graywind motorized shades for several years = all with solar charger option. They work really well - 100% reliable to move the blinds up and down several times a day. Even though some windows are North facing with 100% shade the blinds get charged with just a little bit of sunshine everyday.
Some people have complained the blinds are noisy - but it is really just a loud hum when the motor activates. There is an option to adjust the motor speed using the RF remote to program the blinds- if you set the speed slow then the motor is quieter.
The Zigbee motors were easy to pair with my Samsung Smarthome hub and I was able to setup automation with third party light sensors to automatically close the blinds during hot sunny periods.
These are well worth the cost!
We our manual daytime cellular shades with day/night automated shades from Graywind. We turned on the Alexa skill for them and really enjoy them. Figuring out the exact Alexa commands to transition between the day and night shades took some effort, but we've pretty much mastered it now. Sleeping with the nightshades closed has allowed me to sleep much later in the mornings. We have large windows in our bedroom and the east window woke us up every morning and the west windows woke us up when clear skies let the moon wake us. I highly recommend the automated features. We went with the battery power and it's great.
Bought these due to problems sleeping. The blackout blind is amazing and my sleep has improved.
There are some thin areas on the joins between cells and the brackets were difficult to use (although this was probably more to do with my ceiling not being level) hence only 4 out of 5 stars.
For Alexa users, the blind motor connected first time using the optional hub. I setup up commands and routines in Alexa as this was easier than the app or the remote.
Overall very happy with my purchase.
I am pleased with the shades. I wish I could program the shades to stop at a mid point. I would like to tell Axlea to open the shade from the black-out to the light filtering, not completely open the shades.
Do they work with other smart assistant like Google or Gemini
A Zigbee hub is needed to connect the day night celluar shades to Google.
Using Zigbee (and Home Assistant), am I able to set these directly to 1) Blackout, 2) Sheer, 3) top 75% sheer, bottom 25% blackout?
Or would I have to go through multiple steps and esoteric timings?
